Ozlight Privacy Policy

Ozlight is designed to operate primarily with devices on or near your local network. Depending on the features you use and the permissions granted to the Application, Ozlight may access the following information:

• Bluetooth device information
• Wi-Fi network information
• Nearby device information
• Device names and identifiers
• MAC addresses of compatible devices, where available
• IP addresses of devices configured by the user
• ESPHome device connection information
• Mobile device information required for application operation
• Application configuration and preferences

Ozlight does not intentionally collect your name, contacts, messages, photographs, microphone recordings, financial information, health information, or other sensitive personal information unless a future feature explicitly requires such information and this Privacy Policy is updated accordingly.

Ozlight may use Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover, connect to, and control compatible lighting devices.

Depending on your Android version and device manufacturer, Android may require Bluetooth-related permissions to discover nearby devices.

Bluetooth information is used only to provide the Bluetooth device discovery and control functionality of Ozlight.

Ozlight does not use Bluetooth information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or tracking your physical location.

Ozlight may scan for available Wi-Fi networks or communicate with devices connected to the same local network.

This information is used to discover and communicate with compatible lighting controllers and other supported devices.

When you manually configure a device using an IP address, that IP address may be stored as part of the device configuration so that Ozlight can reconnect to the device.

Ozlight supports communication with compatible ESPHome devices. To provide this functionality, the Application may use information such as:

• ESPHome device IP address
• Device name
• Device configuration
• Local network connection information

ESPHome communication is normally performed directly between your mobile device and the ESPHome device over your local network.

Ozlight does not require your ESPHome device data to be transmitted to a remote server in order to control the device.

Ozlight may access MAC addresses or other device identifiers when required to identify compatible Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices.

These identifiers are used for device discovery, device identification, connection management, and saving a user's device configuration.

Device identifiers are not used for advertising or user profiling.

On some versions of Android, the operating system may require location permission to scan for nearby Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices.

If Android requires location permission for device discovery, the permission is used only to enable the corresponding device-scanning functionality.

You can manage or revoke this permission at any time through your Android device settings. Revoking the permission may prevent certain Wi-Fi or Bluetooth discovery features from working.

Ozlight may access limited technical information about your mobile device when necessary for application operation, troubleshooting, compatibility, and security.

This may include:

• Device manufacturer
• Device model
• Android version
• Application version
• Operating system information
• Basic technical configuration information

This information is not intentionally used to identify you personally.

Information accessed by Ozlight is used only when necessary to provide and improve the functionality of the Application.

This may include:

• Discovering compatible lighting devices
• Connecting to Bluetooth devices
• Connecting to Wi-Fi devices
• Communicating with ESPHome devices
• Saving device configurations
• Maintaining application functionality
• Diagnosing technical problems
• Improving application stability and compatibility
• Protecting the Application against abuse or security issues

Ozlight does not use device information for targeted advertising or behavioral advertising.

Device configurations and preferences may be stored locally on your mobile device so that Ozlight can remember your configured lighting devices.

Information such as device names, IP addresses, MAC addresses, and configuration values may therefore remain on your device until you remove the corresponding device or uninstall the Application.

Ozlight does not require a user account for normal local device control.

Ozlight does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Ozlight does not share Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, ESPHome, or device identification information with advertisers or marketing companies.

Information may only be disclosed when required by law, necessary to protect our rights or security, or necessary to provide a specific third-party service that you explicitly choose to use.

Ozlight may use third-party libraries or platform services required for application functionality, distribution, security, or operating system compatibility.

Third-party components may process limited technical information according to their own privacy policies.

We do not intentionally provide third parties with your lighting device information for advertising or marketing purposes.

If Ozlight uses Google APIs or Google services that access user information, such use will comply with the applicable Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.

Google API data will not be used for advertising or sold to third parties.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Ozlight.

Local device information is intended to remain on the user's device unless transmission is required by a feature or service explicitly used by the user.

However, no electronic storage system or network transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Ozlight retains locally stored device configurations for as long as they are needed to provide the application's functionality.

You can delete configured devices and associated configuration information from within the Application where such functionality is provided.

You may also remove locally stored Application data through your Android device settings or uninstall the Application.

If you believe that information associated with Ozlight is being stored by us and you would like it deleted, you may contact us using the email address provided below.

Ozlight is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to:

• Request information about data processing
• Request access to personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of information
• Object to certain processing activities
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
